Formed in 1957, the Kingston Trio broke through with their 1958 recording "Tom Dooley", which reached No. 1 and sold millions of copies, helping spark the late?1950s American folk revival. They enjoyed major commercial success through the early 1960s with multiple chart?topping albums and extensive touring, and although personnel changed over time the Kingston Trio name has continued to perform.
