Superstar were formed in 1991 by singer-songwriter Joe McAlinden and released several albums on Creation Records and other labels during the 1990s. Their single "Superstar" charted in the UK and was later covered by Rod Stewart; the band toured internationally (including Japan) and ceased regular activity around 2000.
