About
Peter Oundjian is a Canadian conductor and former first violinist of the Tokyo String Quartet who moved into conducting after a career-limiting repetitive stress injury. He served as Music Director of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra from 2004 through the 2017–2018 season, later led the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Colorado Music Festival, and was named conductor emeritus of the TSO. His recordings and projects have received major nominations and civic honours, including the Key to the City of Toronto.
