Louis Johnson (April 13, 1955 – May 21, 2015) was an American bass guitarist and a founding member of the Brothers Johnson. Nicknamed "Thunder?Thumbs," he pioneered an aggressive slap?bass style and became a sought?after session player for Quincy Jones, contributing to Michael Jackson tracks such as "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Billie Jean." He is widely regarded as a major influence on modern funk bass technique.
