Joey Alexander rose to international attention as a child prodigy after Wynton Marsalis invited him to perform at Jazz at Lincoln Center and he released his debut album My Favorite Things in 2015 at age 11. He earned multiple Grammy nominations (2016, 2017), becoming the first Indonesian musician nominated for a Grammy, and has released albums on Motéma, Verve and Mack Avenue while touring internationally with his regular trio.
