Great Lumbering Beast was formed in 2019 by singer-songwriter Charity Hendricks Rael (with Joe Ippolito as an early collaborator) and grew from duo busking roots into a four-piece live act. They released the live EP Great Lumbering Beast Live at the Bandcave (2021) and have issued singles including "Regrettably Human" (2023) and a cover single "Pumped Up Kicks" (2024). The group is active in the Denver music scene and participates in local benefit shows and community events.
